I recently had knee surgery after six months of fighting the idea of considering surgery.

Once I had the surgery, I expected to be back in shape within six weeks, doing what I love, feeling beautiful and strong. That has yet happen and I’m feeling discouraged.

I am resetting my workout routine, adding different kinds of exercise and accepting that the expectations I had for myself were not realistic.

I rejoined the gym where I could add swimming, spin classes and elliptical to my workouts (even though those are not my preferred activities). I’m fighting the negative thoughts. The extra 15 pounds will fall off but it will take time.

I remind myself that every day is precious and worrying about weight is not productive. I have so much to live for and be grateful for. Every day counts!
